Limited Exclusion Order and Cease and Desist Orders for Certain Optical Disk Controller Chips and Chipsets
and Products Containing Same, Including DVD Players
and PC Optical Storage Devices
The International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders in its section 337 patent-based investigation of certain optical disk controller chips and chipsets and products containing same, including DVD players and PC optical storage devices (337-TA-506). In addition, the ITC is announcing that the termination of this investigation.
The ITC is issuing the limited exclusion order and the cease and desist orders for certain companies located in Taiwan, California, and Japan. An administrative law judge (ALJ) and the ITC found that a certain claim of a Zoran Corporation and Oak Technology, Inc. patent was infringed by the below-listed companies.
The limited exclusion order prohibits the unlicensed entry of chips or chipsets covered by claim 3 of U.S. Patent No. 6,584,527 manufactured abroad or imported by or on behalf of Mediatek, Inc. of Hsin-Chu City, Taiwan, and ... ( More )
