Domestic Industry Request for Safeguard Quota
The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA) has issued a notice announcing that on June 22, 2005, it received a request from certain groups† asking that a safeguard quota be imposed on China cat 369pt. /666pt. (cotton and man-made fiber curtains and drapery).
According to CITA, this request for a safeguard quota, which alleges market disruption, provides the information necessary for CITA to consider it.
Due Date for Written Comments is August 18, 2005
CITA states that written comments may be submitted by any interested person, and must be received no later than August 18, 2005. CITA also states that it is particularly seeking comment with regard to whether imports from China of any such products are, due to market disruption, threatening to impede the orderly development of trade in such products.
