CBP Reminder That

Overshipments of China Safeguard Quotas

Will Be Subject to Delayed, Staged Entry

and Opening Moment Procedures

 

 

 

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted to its Web site a notice which reiterates the Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements’ (CITA’s) procedures for the entry of goods shipped in excess of the China safeguard quotas as well as processing procedures implemented by CBP.

 

Overshipments of Any China Safeguard Quota Will Be Subject to Delayed, Staged Entry

 

According to CBP, the following is CITA’s procedure for overshipments of China safeguard quotas:

 

·     Entry will not be allowed until one month after the expiration date of the safeguard quota.

 

·     At that time only 5% of the base limit will be allowed entry for a one-month period beginning on that date.
