Initiation of AD Duty Changed Circumstances Review

(On Whether to Revoke an AD Duty Order in Part)

Japan

Certain Corrosion-Resistant Carbon Steel Flat Products

A-588-824

The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice announcing that it is initiating a changed circumstances review of the antidumping (AD) duty order on certain corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from Japan.

The ITA states that in October 2004, it received a request to revoke in part the AD duty order on certain corrosion-resistant steel flat products with respect to diffusion annealed nickel-plate.

According to the ITA, the petitioner contends that revocation of this AD duty order with respect to diffusion annealed nickel-plate is warranted because there is minimal alteration to the specifications of the products with respect to the ITA's July 2002 decision to revoke in part the AD duty order on corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products with respect to certain diffusion annealed nickel-plate and next generation diffusion annealed nickel-plate.  (See ITT's Online Archives or 07/23/02 news, (Ref: 02072325), for BP summary of this revocation in part.)

The ITA states that it will publish the preliminary results of this AD duty changed circumstances review in the Federal Register.  The ITA adds that it intends to issue the final results of its AD duty changed circumstances review not later than 270 days after November 30, 2004.

(See ITA notice for more information, including a technical description of diffusion annealed nickel-plate, the scope of the order, etc.)
