In 1985 International Trade Today was founded in Washington, D.C. to serve Customs Brokers. Marie Rapport, the founder and herself a licensed Broker, perceived a need for up-to-the-minute information on new and changing federal rules and regulations for trade and customs professionals wishing to maintain their expertise in international trade. Over the years International Trade Today's subscriber base has expanded to include many law firms, consultants, and importers and exporters.
With the advent of Customs "Informed Compliance" program, it became even more important to stay on top of the rules and regulations governing international trade. And with the ever increasing complexity surrounding importing and exporting, and the unfiltered, sometimes disjointed information available on a multitude of information sources, it has become even more difficult and time-consuming for the professional to locate the quality information he or she needs to stay on top of trade developments.
International Trade Today's staff collects information from many sources, reads it all and then identifies and summarizes what is important. In the almost twenty years that International Trade Today has been in business, we have developed relationships with key government officials, former government officials, Hill staffers, Association staff, embassy personnel, Customs lawyers, Brokers, and Import managers. If something of note is going on in the area of trade regulation, we know about it.
